Care for Your Stainless Steel Keepsake

At Keepsake Name Rings we provide a Care for Your Keepsake Card with all our keepsake purchases.

We do this as our commitment to ensuring that our customers can refer to this “Care Card” to ensure that they care to keep it in pristine condition.

It is always advisable to clean Stainless Steel with warm soapy water & dry with a soft dry cotton type cloth as it is preferred you not be tempted to soak your stainless steel keepsake in water to clean it. If you have no other cleaner, a small drop of dishwashing liquid can sometimes do the trick.

Always clean stainless steel lengthwise with the grain of the stainless steel, and not in circular motion.

In case of brushed stainless steel, it is always advisable to dry along the stainless steel grain.

Stainless Steel itself is a strong hardy hypoallergenic metal, and defines a fashionable accessory that won’t bend or break plus it doesn’t stain, rust, tarnish or discolour, resists oxidation & corrosion & also doesn’t scratch easily, but in saying this, please be careful, as if you store stainless steel with other metals, or allow it to rub against other stainless steel pieces, or metals, both will scratch. As remember Stainless Steel is the stronger metal.

We spoke on a previous guide about chemicals and how they interact with our Keepsakes.   This meaning that any chemicals we come into contact with will not affect our Stainless Steel, however,  they will affect our stamping imprint blackening, as many people have common harsh chemicals in their home, that when you wear a keepsake your hands are in constant contact.  I.e. shampoos, conditioners, dishwashing liquids, soaps, garden sprays, beauty products etc. Please keep these in mind when caring for your Keepsake. If you need to re blacken your stamping imprint – please view the guide.

And when not in use, it is always best to store your Keepsakes in a Jewel box, or small gift bag or container.

Hope you enjoyed this Tip
